WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Centrality of the Word of God.
We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testament, is the authoritative Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct.

The Necessity of the New Birth.
We believe that Christ has come to bring us into a new and living relationship with God through faith in Him.

The Fellowship of Believers.
We believe the Church is a fellowship or family of believers, characterized by mutual participation in and sharing of the new life in Christ.

Participation in the Sacraments.
We believe that God has given the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion as visible signs of the invisible grace of Jesus Christ.

The Centrality of Jesus Christ.
We believe that in Jesus Christ, God became incarnate. In His life, death, and resurrection He has made salvation possible for all who believe.

The Work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. It is He that makes possible our faith and growth in the Christian life.

The Reality of Freedom in Christ.
When we are in a right relationship with God we are truly free. This freedom in Christ allows for differences of opinion where the Biblical record itself can be differently read.

The Call to Christ's Mission.
We believe that Christ commands us to make Him known at home and abroad. That mission is carried out both by what we say and do. The Great Commission of Jesus Christ is still the Church's mandate.

The Great Hope of the Church.
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again. When and how is not clearly revealed and we remain open to learn more. The certainty of His coming is a Biblical given.

The Growth of the Christian.
We believe the new birth is only the beginning of the Christian life. We are committed to the Biblical principle of spiritual growth, leading to maturity in Christ.
